We Believe in Hydropower

WhyHydroPower.com is produced by a loose association of renewable energy enthusiasts who believe hydropower is good for our world. We are grateful to Canyon Hydro for its small but essential donation of funds and IT resources that made it possible for us to create this site.

Hydroelectric projects have existed for more than a century, which makes it easy to forget about them when we talked about “new” sources of renewable energy like the sun and wind. But despite the fact that some may call it “old technology,” hydropower remains one of our lowest cost, most efficient methods for producing electricity. Add in the fact that water is a clean, fully renewable resource, and it becomes easy to justify a closer look.
